In “Salamanders Are Pretty Awesome…But They May Be in Big Trouble,” Parsons describes a threat to salamanders from a fungus originating in Asia that has recently been found in Europe. He urges proactive steps to lessen the risk of its appearance in North America, a hotspot of salamander biodiversity. Parsons is the North America Policy Director for the Society for Conservation Biology.
