Odum Watershed
The Odum Watershed, a 160-acre watershed in Madison County, just outside
of Athens, is available for teaching, research and service purposes.
Large sections of the watershed contain old-growth forests and thus
it serves as a unique reference ecosystem.
This outdoor laboratory is ideal for field and experimental level studies
and serves as a demonstration site used to emphasize practical resource
management strategies, including sustainable approaches to forestry,
cropland, and stream management. A log cabin located on the property
serves as a multi-purpose facility serving numerous functions (e.g.,
classroom, meetings, seminar, or retreat).
