David R. Bowne (MS CESD ’97) is an associate professor of ecology in the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences at Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania, USA. He is a founding member of the Ecological Research as Education Network (EREN), which builds collaborations among faculty and students at primarily undergraduate institutions. His research focuses on the effects of land use on reptiles and amphibians. David is also a published author of creative nonfiction and short fiction in which ecological concepts are woven into the narratives. He earned a Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences from the University of Virginia in 2002.
