John L. Gittleman, UGA Foundation Professor and dean of the Odum School of Ecology, will deliver the opening address at the 2020 Global Health Summit at the American Veterinary Medical Association Virtual Convention on Aug. 20. His talk, “One Health: What Is It, What Should It Be?” will address the need for an interdisciplinary approach to health problems and call for expanding the One Health concept to include agricultural, clinical and environmental issues. Gittleman is currently a voting, elected member of the AVMA Council on Education, the accrediting body for veterinary schools.
