May 8, 2020
Athens, Ga. – The University of Georgia Odum School of Ecology conferred degrees to the fifty students of the Class of 2020 on May 8. While in-person commencement ceremonies were tentatively postponed until the fall, if deemed safe, the Odum School commemorated the occasion with a convocation website featuring profiles of the graduating students and congratulatory messages.
John L. Gittleman, UGA Foundation Professor and dean of the Odum School, offered his congratulations to the graduates via email and video.
“We are all extremely proud of what you’ve accomplished,” he wrote in his remarks. “You have not only worked hard in achieving your degrees, but you’ve faced the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic with grace. Our time together has been a privilege and an honor.”
