Dr. Stephanie Yarnell-Mac Grory, BS ’06, named to UGA 40 Under 40

Ecology alumna Dr. Stephanie Yarnell-Mac Grory was named to UGA 40 Under 40 class of 2018 by the UGA Alumni Association. Forty Under 40 recognizes young alumni who have made an impact in their professional and philanthropic endeavors.

Dr. Yarnell-Mac Grory graduated from UGA summa cum laude with Highest Honors, receiving bachelor of science degrees in ecology, biology and microbiology in 2006. While at UGA she was a CURO Scholar and was inducted into 12 honors societies, including Phi Beta Kappa. She received her MD jointly with her PhD in immunology and microbiology from the University of Florida, where she graduated with Honors at the top of her medical school class. She completed her residency in psychiatry at the Yale University School of Medicine, where she was also a member of the neuroscience research track with a research focus on addiction. She has been honored with numerous awards, including American Psychiatric Association Research Colloquium for Junior Investigators Award and the Thomas P. Detre Fellowship Award in Translational Neuroscience Research in Psychiatry.

Currently Dr. Yarnell-Mac Grory is on the faculty of the Neuroscience Research Training Program at Yale, where she is holds fellowships in addiction psychiatry and in law and psychiatry.
